JagBag Fine Silk Deluxe Extra Wide - Custom Side Opening

Here's one of our lightweight Fine Silk JagBags.  Weighing around 25% less than our 'Normal' JagBags,  Fine Silks appealed to travellers who were looking to save pack weight wherever they could.  We used to offer all styles and colours of JagBags in both Endura (normal weight) and Fine silk but this gradually turned into a bit of a production nightmare and so we dropped the Fine range to concentrate on the Endura.  The Fine JagBags have been in storage for some time and may be a bit creased but they're still an excellent hand made, hand dyed silk sleeping bag liner.  

This particular JagBag Deluxe was part of a small customised range we used to offer at one time.  In response to customer requests we made a few liners which were open down one side but secured with 9 velcro pads.  This does make getting in and out a little easier but you need to be VERY careful with the tabs.

Pull them apart gently by holding only the tabs - don't pull the silk as it will eventually start to come away from the tabs.  Also,  make sure that no silk is trapped between the tabs when you press them together. 

It's a bit difficult trying to photograph the open side but we tried and also put in a line drawing to show what's going on.  You can of course just leave the tabs closed up and just slide in and out of the JagBag - an easy solution to silk/velcro anxiety!

Being Fine Silk the JagBag only weighs a featherlight 150g or just over 5.5 ounces.  It's also Extra Wide being 28cm/11ins wider than a normal width Deluxe.  An additional length of silk is sewn in to achieve the extra width and while this does create a seam it lies flat and you won't notice it when you're in the Jag Bag.
